BRUCKNER2024 goes into the final

The complete symphonic Bruckner
This year, BRUCKNER2024 is entering its grand finale. With the performances of Bruckner's third symphony in the Regentenbau in Bad Kissingen and the eighth symphony in the former Ebrach Abbey Church at the Ebrach Music Summer, a huge project that began in 2011 will end. In 2025, all of Anton Bruckner's symphonies will be available on recordings in all versions, recorded by the Philharmonie Festiva.
Bayerischer Rundfunk and Profil Hänssler
Without the appropriate cooperation partners, such a project is hardly imaginable. Bayerischer Rundfunk – Studio Franken is such an important cooperation partner, because the recordings of Bayerischer Rundfunk guarantee the highest quality. I am extremely pleased that the international CD label Profil Edition Günter Hänssler was on board from the very beginning.
Unique in the world
BRUCKNER2024 is a unique project, because BRUCKNER2024 not only includes all the versions in the official canon, but also important intermediate versions such as the Third in the 1874 version or the Eighth in the intermediate version of 1888. I fondly remember the fruitful collaboration with the American musicologist William Carragan.
Bruckner's Ninth with Finale
An essential part and at the same time another unique selling point of the complete recording is Bruckner's Ninth, including the final movement that I added. My path to the final version of my final movement completion took several years. Bruckner is known to have changed several of his symphonies again and again. Perhaps I felt a little like the great master from St. Florian, who also strove for the ideal form. My third and final version of the final movement is now available.
One orchestra - one artistic signature: the Philharmonie Festiva
Another important unique selling point BRUCKNER2024 is that all versions were recorded by just one orchestra, the Philharmonie Festiva. One orchestra and one conductor recorded the complete symphonic Bruckner. Only then is an ideal comparability of the versions possible. The Philharmonie Festiva is now a renowned orchestra. The musicians come from top orchestras from all over Germany and neighboring countries.
Ebrach and Bad Kissingen
It was also important to me to select the right sound space for BRUCKNER2024. The former abbey church of Ebrach Monastery has unique acoustics that are ideal for Anton Bruckner's music, which requires both sound opulence and transparency. Bruckner simply sounds particularly good there. But the Max Littmann Hall in the Regentenbau in Bad Kissingen also has particularly individual acoustics that are particularly suitable for the early symphonies. Selecting the right hall is important because, after all, every hall is like a huge sound body. Every hall has its own characteristics and individuality. And the two recording locations Ebrach and Bad Kissingen are something very special.
